HECT International Shipping Guide

The most important aspect of seamless international shipping is the preparation. We strongly advise our customers to ensure their inventory is set up with the required information, to avoid errors at despatch or unexpected fees at customs - more on this below:

  1. Log into HECT and navigate to the inventory section. To edit a SKU, click into the item.

  1. Add in a description of the item ie 'Size 10 Black Wool Jumper'.

  1. Ensure the item has a value.

  1. Add in a customs description - we encourage you to add suitable details regarding the item, composition, size, colour etc.

  1. Add in a HS/Commodity code; if you are unsure what this is, please check the government website - UK Integrated Online Tariff: Look up commodity codes, duty and VAT rates - GOV.UK"

  1. (Optional) Locate and copy your HS code to enter it into HECT.

  1. Add in the country of origin in ISO Code format (ie GB).

  1. Add in the weights and dimensions of the item as accurately as possible.

  1. (Optional) Add in a shipping override to lock the item to your preferred shipping method.

  1. Now you can ship your parcel - go to Send a Parcel.

  1. Add your item into the shipment.

  1. The item will be pre-populated with your previous configuration.

  1. Add in the destination address - please ensure a phone number and email is provided.

  1. Your shipping service will populate based on shipping rule configuration, but can be overridden here if required.

  1. Click "Create Single Shipment" to obtain your label.
