In order to set up QZ Tray, you will need to follow a series of steps.
First, navigate to the
QZ Tray Download page. Once you are on the page, select the most recent stable release, which can be identified by the green button on the left side of the page with a red arrow pointing to it. The orange button on the right side of the page is a pre-release version and is
not recommended. For example, in the screenshot provided, the latest stable release is version 2.1.
Once you have selected the appropriate version, download the installation file to your computer and execute it. A Windows User Account Control prompt will appear, allowing the installation file to run. Once the file is executed, you will be presented with the QZ Tray Setup Wizard.
During the installation process, the QZ Tray Setup will check your computer to see if you have Java installed. If you do not have Java installed, you will be prompted to download and install it. Once Java is installed, the QZ Tray installer will resume.
Once the installation is complete, QZ Tray should run automatically. To ensure that QZ Tray will always work with HECT, right-click on the QZ Tray icon in the taskbar and ensure that the "Automatically start" option is selected.
